我选的C。根据and平行，直接杀A，B.E。因为D出线long before it后，出线的是JB这个人，而不是语义上指代的巴黎，有了疑问，没有立马解决，产生了歧义我感觉。

排除E：it was 和being的不对应（话说being到底会对句子起什么作用呢）
在C,D中纠结
然后看到D的long before it was fashionable to be an expatriate,后面紧接的是josephine Baker,就觉得那个it 错误的指代了josephine baker.
所以选了D
不过现在看回C那个 to be an expatriate was fashionable 也很奇怪。
