Critical Reasoning

[Critical Reasoning] 试题详情

For most people, the left half of the brain controls linguistic capabilities, but some people have their language centers in the right half.  When a language center of the brain is damaged, for example by a stroke, linguistic capabilities are impaired in some way.  Therefore, people who have suffered a serious stroke on the left side of the brain without suffering any such impairment must have their language centers in the right half.

Which of the following is an assumption on which the reasoning in the argument above depends?

Options:

No part of a person's brain that is damaged by a stroke ever recovers.
Impairment of linguistic capabilities does not occur in people who have not suffered any damage to any language center of the brain.
Strokes tend to impair linguistic capabilities more severely than does any other cause of damage to language centers in the brain.
If there are language centers on the left side of the brain, any serious stroke affecting that side of the brain damages at least one of them.
It is impossible to determine which side of the brain contains a person's language centers if the person has not suffered damage to either side of the brain.

Correct:

D

文中的意思-language center 受损(由stroke引起),语言能力受损,则如果某人barin受损(由stroke引起)但语言能力没问题,则语言中心在右边;我的理解-stroke要损伤脑---脑中的语言中心---语言能力;这里assumption就是brain受伤代表了language center受伤;A无关;B说了languge center受损,语言能力受损,并不是assumption-或者说这个assumption题目中已经给出了;C无关;D我没看懂at least one of them。我可能最想要的assumption就是stroke损伤了one side of brain,就等于损害了languge center(如果that side of brain有language center);

B(people who have not suffered any damage )和C(any other cause of damage to language centers )不是原文范围,留下A D E.比不出来。 For most people, the left half of the brain controls linguistic capabilities, but some people have their language centers in the right half.
